You'll never believe what I found

He used to feel a strange kind of guilt when he looked through whatever possessions had survived whenever they came across vehicles that had been on their way to the castle but hadn't made it. He hadn't been able to help these people, and now he was poking around the charred remains of what had been their best bet for survival looking for whatever he could find that might be even remotely useful. It felt wrong, somehow.
He'd not been so quick to abandon such feelings as some, but the sight of children starving to death went a long way to make a man ease up on moral principles that were only of benefit to dead people who wouldn't care one way or the other anyway.
So there he was, going through what had once been a jeep, glad that if there was anything left of the people that had been in it, it was indistinguishable as anything human.
Lying under the car, miraculously barely damaged, he found a small can that seemed to be some kind of salve. After careful examination he found that it was... oh. Well, there was a thought. He slipped it into his coat and didn't mention it to anyone else, allowing himself a slightly selfish moment as he went back to work.
It felt wrong to bring his find up with Creedy until a couple of weeks or so later, some sense of respect for the dead still stopping him from making such frivolous use as the one he had in mind of something found where people had died.
Still, when he felt enough time had passed he asked Creedy come see him in his room later that evening, and once they were alone he produced the can and tossed it to Creedy, who'd placed himself comfortably on Quinn's bed.
"It's Vaseline. Lots of good uses for it so it'd be a crime to keep it to myself, but I figured that we could... at least once, you know?"
So maybe propositioning someone wasn't what Quinn did best in this world.
